Outreach Driver
Immediate Need for Temp-to-Hire Outreach Driver
(Part-Time, 5 shifts per week)
As Outreach Driver you will:
Deliver fresh (yummy!) meals to client homes, following an assigned route, Monday- Friday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. This role will work 5 days per week (5 hours per day) – perfect for school-aged parents/caregivers or the semi-retired. No weekend or evening shifts required!
Provide a friendly visit and check-in for older adults receiving Foodnet meals in Tompkins County.
Assist with food packing and safe temperature transportation using hot/cold meal transporters loading into newer Foodnet-owned and carefully maintained cargo vans (with AC, cruise control, etc.)
Work with a fun, energetic group of individuals who are committed to assisting our senior neighbors to live independently.

Receive a Tompkins County Living Wage (currently $16.67 per hour; increase planned in 2024 to $18.45 per hour).
To be an Outreach Driver, you need:
A valid NYS driver’s license with clean driving and safety record.
A good sense of humor and ability to see good in others.
An interest in social services, food security, senior health, and making our community a better place.
Ability to lift and move 40-60 lbs, stand for a full shift, exit and enter vehicle safely, and climb stairs.
A collaborative and flexible workstyle and a willingness to communicate effectively as a part of a multifaceted and fun team.
Experience with older adults, differently abled individuals, and diverse populations is welcome.
Food service experience is not required but is also welcome.
High school diploma or record of equivalent skills to demonstrate success in the role.
Knowledge of Tompkins County is helpful.
