(3) Part-Time Outreach Drivers (28 hrs/wk, M-F, approx 8:30AM – 2:30PM)

Summary of the position

Deliver home delivered meals, following assigned route 

Accept participant contributions for meals, and return to Administrative personnel

Provide brief friendly visit and general safety check to meal recipients

Maintain food safety during transport and delivery

Coordinate with the Food Service Operations Manager to log and report food temperatures

Load and unload delivery vehicles, and clean meal delivery containers 

Maintain vehicle maintenance and travel logs, and ensure that vehicles maintain fuel, proper air pressure in tires, and cleanliness

Deliver catered/bulk meals to the community congregate dining rooms

Coordinate with the Food Service Operations Manager, and Kitchen Personnel to support meal packing activities

Attend staff meeting and trainings, including ServSafe and Safe Driving, as assigned

Qualifications

Must have a NYS driver’s license for at least 3 years with a good safety record

High school graduate or equivalent

A collaborative and flexible work style 

Good sense of humor is a plus

Experience with food services and sanitation is a plus

Experience working with older adults, individuals living with disabilities, and diverse populations are preferred

Director of Development & Community Relations

If you are an experienced fundraiser and community-minded professional and are looking for a rewarding position in service of seniors, consider joining the Foodnet Meals on Wheels team! As a Director of Development and Community Relations you will be a member of the leadership team and will oversee the fundraising, resource development and community relations efforts at Foodnet Meals on Wheels.

What You Will Do:
Create and carry-out strategic vision for fundraising functions in alignment with the Foodnet’s strategic plan and programmatic goals and objectives designed to meet annual and long-range goals including major gifts, foundation and corporate giving, planned giving.

Be responsible for the fundraising efforts through successful delivery of donor engagement services in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Maintain frequent and productive contact with members of the Board of Directors, Board Committee Members, Staff, Donors, and other organizations to further Foodnet’s fundraising plan.

Write and submit applications and funding requests to foundations and corporations with or without the guidance of the Executive Director.

Create and implement community public relations programming including successful website, social media, and other marketing efforts in support of Foodnet’s mission.

Along with the Executive Director, serve as the public face of the organization at events and community meetings.

Coordinate Foodnet’s signature fundraising event (such as the highly successful and beloved events such as the Mac & Cheese Bowl/Crawl) to ensure success and facilitate other events as needed.

What you will need:
Significant and successful experience and ability to develop, implement and manage all aspects of successful fundraising strategies to meet organizational annual and long-range financial goals (including annual fund, major gifts, foundation, and corporate giving, planned giving and special campaigns).

A broad-based leadership background with at least 3 years of progressively increasing experience that demonstrates strengths in communication, organization, vision, patience, and purpose for strategic direction.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, connect with and support a diverse group of committed and passionate donors, hard-working staff, a strong management team, board and volunteers on fundraising, marketing, and community engagement.

A creative approach to strategy and growth, demonstrated by involvement with new initiatives, the ability to learn, to make mistakes and to grow while keeping a clear eye on the larger vision and path of the organization and the team while creating a strong, trust- based relationship with the Executive Director.

Demonstrated experience commensurate with position responsibilities. Bachelor’s Degree desirable.

Successful experience writing and submitting grants and sponsorship requests.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing (including web and social media), public relations, and community engagement in human services preferred.

Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and experience in Tompkins County, New York a plus.

Efficient time manager with demonstrated ability to complete work in an effective and timely manner with an ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint software programs with an aptitude and ability to learn donor database management software.

Possess a valid NYS Driver’s license and a clean driving record and ability to travel in and outside of Tompkins County.

Ability to perform in a hybrid work format with remote and in-person work requirements.

(2) Part-Time Registered Dietitians (option for placement into full-time status)

Foodnet Meals on Wheels is actively seeking two part-time Registered Dietitian/Care Managers (RD/CM). 20 hours per week, option for placing into a full-time status will be considered.

As a Registered Dietitian/Care Manager you will be a key member of the organization and oversee nutrition programming at Foodnet Meals on Wheels.  The RD/CM will coordinate, plan, monitor, and assess nutrition service standards in accordance with the Federal Older American’s Act and New York State Office for the Aging regulations for our seniors in Tompkins County, New York.  You will also develop and present education and training programs, nutrition counseling, community outreach, and case management.

What You Will Do:

Provide initial assessment of the nutritional status of all new Foodnet Meals on Wheels participants and reassess continuing participants according to program standards. 

Assist in the development of appropriate participant care plans in accordance with all program requirements and refer participants to other community services as needed.

Ensure collection of data, and input into various database records.

Provide nutritional counseling to homebound clients and assist in the coordination and present nutrition education programs.

Assist in the planning and implementation of staff and volunteer in-service trainings that advance the goals of Foodnet Meals on Wheels.

Support the organization’s marketing and outreach activities to create exposure and generate referrals for Foodnet Meals on Wheels.  

In collaboration with others, direct the planning, implementation, and supervision of interns.  

Develop, implement, and record quality assurance procedures to monitor food delivery, storage, preparation, and service standards.

Evaluate how well menus and food preparation meet the preferences of participants.

Act as liaison with health, social service, aging, mental health and other community organizations and agencies.

What you will need:

A passion for maintaining a healthy community and helping others.

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related subject.

Registered Dietitian License, or license eligible within 3 months of employment. 

2 + years post education experience in community or public health nutrition is strongly preferred. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience working with older adults, individuals with chronic illness, and/or individuals living with physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, or developmental challenges.

Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required. 

Ability to follow a hybrid work model with some remote work required. In-office work to take place in Ithaca.

Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.

Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Documents. Experience with CBORD platforms and social media is a plus.

Registered Dietitian/Care Managers (RD/CM) Compensation Information:

Part-time, non-exempt employee 20 hours per week

(1) Part-Time Operations Support Assistant Position: 25 Hours Per Week (Monday-Friday)

Provides back-up support to Outreach Drivers in terms of meal deliveries, delivery reports, and other related delivery tasks, as needed

Assists the Food Service Operations Manager with fleet maintenance coordination

Provides back-up support to Congregate Site Managers with meal set-up, serves meals, clean-up, and reporting, as needed

Assists Lead Cooks with meal preparation tasks, as needed

Supports Utility and Receiving Clerk with weekly/monthly cleaning, and inventory

Assists in next day meal preparation, packing bread, and dishing appetizers/desserts

Provides support with sandwich meal delivery preparations

Supports packing of weekend and holiday meals, as needed

Attends staff meetings, and assigned professional development trainings

Performs other duties as assigned

 Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a human services related subject is preferred

Must have a NYS State driver’s license with at least 3 years of a good safety record.

2 + years experience working with older adults, individuals with chronic illness or individuals living with physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental or development challenges

Experience in food services and production is a plus

Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required with at least three years of a good safety record.

Maintains a professional and resourceful style that includes the ability to work both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team

(2) Part-Time Food Service Worker/Receiving Clerk  25 hours per week (Mon-Friday)

Responsible for dishwashing using a 3-sink method.

Maintains daily cleanliness and sanitation of facilities including restrooms, kitchen, workstations, equipment, transport containers and main office spaces and other items as needed

Manages waste removal and disposal including recycling and garbage

Supports receiving and tracking of delivery items and inventory, including notifying the Food Service Operations Manager and Assistant Manager of shortages, out-of-stocks, and errors.

Ensure organization of storerooms, proper rotating of stock, and tracking and reporting of items.

Assists the Food Service Operations Manager with monthly inventory as needed.

Assists cooks with meal prepping and packing of meals as needed.

Supports with meal deliveries as needed.

Preforms other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent

2 or more years of experience working in commercial kitchen or hospitality service position

Reliable transportation.

Must have a New York State Driver’s License with a 3-year clean driving record. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills

Maintains a professional and resourceful style that includes the ability to work both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team
