Substitute Driver

 (per diem)
Foodnet Meals on Wheels is seeking a per diem Substitute Driver to support our meal delivery program. Competitive compensation is available for the position. Candidates should submit an application, resume, and at least three professional references. Candidate materials are due by Friday, May 25th to Jessica Gosa jgosa@foodnet.org. Summary of the position
· Deliver home delivered meals, following assigned route and obeying New York State traffic laws.
·Greet each participant in a friendly manner as meals are delivered.
· Accept participant contributions for meals, and return to the Receptionist/Secretary.
·Provide brief friendly visit and general safety check to meal recipients.
· Maintain food safety during transport and delivery.
· Coordinate with the Food Service Operations Manager to log and report food temperatures.
·Load and unload delivery vehicles, and clean meal delivery containers.
· Maintain vehicle maintenance and travel log, and ensure that vehicles maintain fuel, and proper air pressure in tires.
· Deliver catered/bulk meals to the community congregate dining rooms.
·Coordinate with the Home Delivered Meals Coordinator to support meal packing activities.
· Attend staff trainings, including ServSafe and Safe Driving, as assigned.

Qualifications
· High school graduate or equivalent. Must have a NYS driver’s license for at least 3 years with a good safety record.
·Experience with food services and sanitation is a plus.
·Experience working with older adults, individuals living with a disability, or a related human service field is a plus.

Food Service Operations Manager

(Full-time/40 hours per week)
The Food Service Operations Manager position is a key member of the management team that oversees the organization’s daily food production, meal delivery services, and personnel. This position is responsible for recipe development, menu planning, food safety, and general operational oversight. Competitive compensation and benefits are available for the position. Summary of position duties
•Responsible for the management of Foodnet’s food production and meal delivery services.
•Coordinates recipe development and menu planning with the food service personnel and the registered dietitian to meet the needs and preferences of Foodnet participants.
•Oversees the operations, workflow, and personnel of the central kitchen, meal delivery and congregate meal services.
•Responsible for the coordination of the organization’s inventory tracking, facility, and fleet maintenance schedules.
•Assists with the development and oversight of the organization’s food expenses and budget.
•Oversees outreach drivers, meal delivery, central kitchen, and congregate program personnel, which include hiring/termination processes, supervision, monitoring, training, and performance evaluations.
•Develops daily, monthly, and quarterly reports.
•Develops, implements, and records quality assurance procedures to monitor food delivery, storage, preparation, and service standards.
•Participates in occasional community network meetings or other community activities to help enhance the organization’s profile.
•Participates in supervising field experience for students, interns, and volunteers.
Qualifications
•Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in nutrition, food service, or other related fields. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred.
•2+ years’ experience in a management position in institutional food service is strongly preferred.
•1+ years’ experience working with older adults, individuals with chronic illness, and/or individuals living with physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, or developmental challenges is strongly preferred.
•Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required.

•Maintains a professional and resourceful style that includes the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
•Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication.
•Demonstrated ability to motivate and communicate effectively with personnel, students, volunteers, and staff.
•Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Documents. Experience with CBORD and Social Media is a plus.
